A. Write the number of dots on each bug.

Answer: Count the spots on each ladybug shown in the book.

🎮 Teaching Concept - Subitization:

The dot activities help children recognize the number of objects instantly without having to count them one by one. This is called subitization. E.g., knowing a dice roll is "5" just by looking at the pattern.

2 Vanishing Buttons & Concept of Zero (Pages 35-36)

Gola monkey eats too many bananas and his buttons pop off one by one. He starts with 4 buttons, then 3, then 2, then 1, and finally... Zero!

Page 36: Write the number of birds sitting on the branch of the tree.

Answers:

Picture 1: 4 birds are sitting on the branch.
Picture 2: 3 birds are sitting on the branch (1 flies away).
Picture 3: 1 bird is sitting on the branch.
Picture 4: 0 (Zero) birds are on the branch (all flew away!).

Think and Tell

A. How many suns do you see in the night?

Answer: 0 (Zero). There is no sun at night.

B. How many moons do you see at noon?

Answer: 0 (Zero). We usually cannot see the moon at noon.

Note: Zero means "absence of something" or "nothing".

3 Tenth Birthday - Grouping 10s (Page 37)

Aastha is 9 years old. After 1 more year, she will be 10. So, 9 and 1 more makes 10.
